Brenninkmeijer-Werhahn: Call for 2012-2013 Visiting Graduate Students Fellowship

Brenninkmeijer-Werhahn Fellowship for Graduate Studies
at the
Hebrew University of Jerusalem

In the context of the ongoing exchange program between the Hebrew University of Jerusalem through its Center for the Study of Christianity and the Pontifical Gregorian University in Rome through its Cardinal Bea Centre for Judaic Studies, we are pleased to announce a fellowship for visiting graduate students at the Hebrew University for the academic year 2012-2013.

The student is expected to follow a course of study at the Hebrew University, during either the fall semester (October 21, 2012 - January 25, 2013) or the spring semester (February 26, 2013 - June 21, 2013). Earlier arrival is recommended for those interested in intensive Hebrew language instruction.

The student will be enrolled in the Division of Graduate Studies of the Rothberg International School in conjunction with the Center for the Study of Christianity and the Department of Comparative Religion of the Faculty of the Humanities. The successful candidate will be free to construct an individual program of study comprising both coursework and independent graduate research. The academic context promises contact with a diverse student body, composed of both Israeli and international students from a variety of national and religious backgrounds.

The fellowship offers a waiver of tuition and a living stipend of 5,000 Euros after applying and filling all the necessary paper work in overseas.huji.ac.il (Rothberg International School website). Moreover, the student will be given access to both library and computing services.

The registration for the Fall semester is till May 15, 2012; for the spring semester is till November 30, 2012.

Applicants are requested to submit the following documents:

  1. A Curriculum Vitae, giving details of education and language skills and any information the applicant considers relevant
  2. Transcripts of undergraduate and graduate studies
  3. A letter of reference

After initial review, applications will be forwarded to the academic committee of the Center for the Study of Christianity of the Hebrew University for final decision. Deadline for applications is March 30, 2012. A decision will be announced by April 16, 2012.
