Pope Francis, in his letter to the Faculty of Theology at the Catholic University of Argentina on the occasion of its centenary, taken up again in the Apostolic Exhortation Gaudete et exsultate (nº 45), writes: “you learn so as to live: theology and holiness are inseparable”.  Theology, and the same I think can be said of the other disciplines at the Gregorian, serves life and, as the Holy Father says, serves holiness.  Since “you learn so as to live”, my most sincere desire is that, for all of you, the time spent in Rome will be of intellectual, human and spiritual growth; a time of joy and consolation, a time of abundant fruit.
