  • Accademic Unit
    Facoltà di Teologia
  • Course
Licenza in Teologia con specializzazione in Teologia Dogmatica

The notion of communio offers an important glimpse into the patristic
experience of the Church. This seminar is a study of the communion ecclesiology
from the perspective of the first Christian centuries (Ludwig
Hertling).1 It is a phase that depicts a constitutive relation of the Eucharist
to the church’s organization (John Binns), among others. Besides, the understanding
of the main characteristics of the church will be studied against
the background of community. Here the inquiry will draw on both Catholic
and Orthodox traditions. Although three authors are highlighted for the
seminar, other sources will also be used to achieve the goal envisioned for
the project.
Obiettivi formativi: We shall study the notion of communio and its
understanding in both the western and Eastern (Orthodox) traditions. The
contemporary challenges will also be discussed.
Metodo d’insegnamento: After an introduction, the each participant
will discuss an assigned theme, which will allow for interactive sessions
throughout the seminar.
Modalità di valutazione: Class presentations, weekly assignments,
and a research paper.
