Objectives: The students will be able to realize the importance of self-care in safeguarding and to recognize the purpose of supervision and instances in which it is needed.

Content : How important are supervision and accompaniment? Their importance for a professional work of value; their significance for personal assistance; their role in preventing compassion fatigue and attending to the spiritual dimension; who to contact to request supervision; where to access help and support for complainants and other secondary victims.

Methodology: The course will combine lectures, reading, and seminar discussion and will focus on a range of selected texts.

Means of evaluation: Evaluation will be based on class participation, written papers, and reflections.
