On Monday 23 November 2020, the meeting of the General Assembly of the Conference of Rectors of Pontifical Roman Universities and Institutions (CRUIPRO) was held online. Together with the Rectors and Presidents present, the Undersecretary of the Congregation for Catholic Education, Msgr. Friedrich Bechina, also attended the meeting.

The second part of the meeting was attended by the Italian Minister of University and Research, Prof. Gaetano Manfredi, who was introduced to the rich and varied panorama of Roman ecclesiastical academic institutions and the specific features of each one. In a climate of friendship and mutual esteem, the steps taken so far by Italy and the Holy See to promote dialogue, collaboration and the synergy of their respective university systems were recalled, and the willingness and interest in continuing fruitfully along this path was reiterated.
