Faculty of Philosophy / Call for papers

The Faculty of Philosophy of the Pontifical Gregorian University invites to send proposals for intervention at the Annual Conference of the Italian Association of Philosophy of Religion (AIFR). The conference "Divine Providence and the Meaning of Human Life", under the patronage of Fondazione Centro Studi Filosofici of Gallarate, will be held at the Pontifical Gregorian University on the next November 11-12, 2021.

To ask oneself about divine providence does not only mean wondering about a central doctrine for the religious faith of all times, but also about the meaning of life and history. The moment of epochal crisis that we are experiencing seems particularly appropriate for a rethinking of this theme starting from the traditional theological and philosophical questions that it raises, but also in the comparison with the scientific vision of the world and with the many contemporary philosophical conceptions that, together with providence, question an ultimate meaning of life and an aim of history: for more information see the complete Call for papers.

The proposals for intervention must be sent to the address [email protected] no later than July 15, 2021. The proposals have to be write in the form of an abstract (maximum 500 words including title and bibliography) in English or Italian, specifing the author’s affiliation. A reply will be communicated by July 31, 2021.
