Moral Theology and Amoris Laetitia / Call for papers

The Faculty of Theology of the Pontifical Gregorian University is calling for papers for the international conference on moral theology "Pastoral Practices, Life Experience, and Moral Theology: Amoris Laetitia  Between New Opportunities and New Paths", organized with the Pontifical John Paul II Theological Institute for the Sciences of Marriage and the Family.

The conference will take place in Rome from 11 to 14 May 2022 to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the Apostolic Exhortation Amoris Laetitia, in response to the request of the Dicastery for the Laity, the Family and Life. The conference aims to explore the critical issues, provocations, and ideas that emerged from the Apostolic Exhortation, seeking to understand them in greater depth and to further explore applications towards articulating an evolving theological-moral reflection on, and its pastoral implications

Each day of the conference will explore a theme and include a number of parallel sessions, which are the subject of this call for papers. Contributions may be submitted in English, French, Italian and Spanish, and must clearly present a question or topic related to the selected thematic area (see them on the complete Call for Papers). After the Scientific Committee has examined the proposals received, the individual proposers will be notified of the outcome of the admission of their paper.

Paper proposals should be sent in the form of an abstract (maximum 2000 signs, excluding bibliography), together with a short curriculum vitae including list of publications, or indicating your academic affiliation. Materials should be sent to [email protected]; the deadline for submitting proposals is December 20th, 2021. For further information, please consult the complete Call for Papers.
