A new creation in Christ and Integral Ecology
Annual Lonergan Lecture - Systematic Theology Responds To Laudato Si'
As we do every year, we celebrate our Annual Lonergan Lecture to introduce B. Lonergan, a student and lecturer at the Pontifical Gregorian University. The Canadian theologian guarded a dream: to bring history into theology, so that the latter could grasp the challenges of the times and realize its preferential option for the poor. In every historical phase, there are changes to be faced and new forms of poverty that demand to be known, taken care of and healed. In recent years, thanks to the Encyclical Laudato Si', the environmental issue has been understood as a "wound" that demands a response from a theological and practical point of view. Dr. L. Ryliškytė will guide us in understanding this challenge in light of Lonergan's theology of the cross.
