Cristo, Krishna e Buddha: teologie dell'incarnazione in dialogo

PROF. THOMAS CATTOI, Jesuit School of Theology, Santa Clara University - Berkeley, CA

In an age characterized by an ever-increasing pluralism of views and beliefs, but also by a secularism often hostile to the religious phenomenon, the doctrinal claims of the Christian faith regarding the uniqueness of Christ's incarnation come face to face with similar, though not identical claims of other religious faiths. Both Buddhism and the various forms of Hinduism found in the Indian subcontinent regard the figures of Buddha or different avatars such as Krishna as vehicles of salvation and redemption. How can Christian theology respond to the speculative view of these other religions in a way that is respectful of, but also in continuity with, its own tradition?
