La Regola Pastorale by Gregorio Magno

Tra labirinti e biblioteche - I grandi libri della tradizione cristiana

In the midst of an epochal change that involved and shocked both the civil and ecclesiastical levels, Pope Gregory I (590-604), known as the Great, committed the first months of his pontificate to writing a small book that will have a very long history of effects, up to us: the Pastoral Rule. A "rule" written explicitly to form an "art" - indeed the supreme of the arts: the care of souls - which, however, has been read over the centuries as a vademecum for preachers, a manual for rulers, a treatise on ordained ministry or a gushing source of merciful glances on life and humanity.

Its presentation is entrusted to Marco Ronconi, a religious teacher and lecturer at the "Alberto Hurtado" Faith and Culture Center.
