LA SOGGETTIVITÀ IN QUESTIONE

Reflecting with Kant, Hegel, Husserl.

As part of the PRAGMATEIA philosophical workshop, and more properly the history of modern and contemporary philosophical thought, the Faculty of Philosophy is launching a series of three lectures focusing on a decisive theme of modernity: "subjectivity" as the principle from which every relationship with the real arises and in which it returns; in which the possibility or impossibility of knowledge of truth and free action is rooted; inquiring consciousness that with a "critical attitude" welcomes multiple looks at the world on condition that they are subjected to the scrutiny of the analytical method of evidence, so that knowledge can be grounded as science.

Through three specialists from Kantian, Hegelian and Husserlian thought, respectively, subjectivity is problematized in itself and shown in its inherent "criticality": manifested as a paradigm of epochal turning points that are still taking place.

The second lecture, given by Prof. Roberto Finelli (University of "Roma Tre"), turns to the analysis of Hegelian texts that highlight the epochal shift from the "philosophy of knowing," which spans the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, to the "philosophy of recognition," a new and fundamental dimension of modernity.
