Libertà e rifondazione della teologia nell'Islam sciita

Since the 1990s, several Iranian Shiite theologians and philosophers have engaged in a broad critique of their theological heritage in order to found a "new theology", in their words. Whether it be theology of law or fundamental theology, freedom occupies a central place in their projects.
With various methods, the "new theologians" aim at rethinking Islamic law in order to agree with the universal human rights and, more generally, redefine Islam itself. The main figures of the "new theology" will be presented in the light of the contemporary history of Shiite Islam, including Iranian Shiism.
