The A Diogneto is a book whose history seems to be a novel: a work from the end of the second century whose memory was lost, was found in Constantinople in the fifteenth century, it is said among the paper with which a merchant at the market sold the fish. Cited as a letter, it is more likely to be a treatise, with a prose of rare elegance and power, on issues that are still topical today: one of all, the characteristics of Christian identity in the world. It is mentioned in decisive passages of Lumen gentium, Dei Verbum and Ad gentes. Rosalba Manes, professor of Biblical Theology at the Faculty of Missiology of the Gregorian, will talk about it.
