Faculty of Social Sciences
Dean Fr. Jacquineau Azetsop, SJ
As the Second Vatican Council states, the Church is always close to "the joys and hopes, the griefs and the anxieties of the men of this age, especially those who are poor or in any way afflicted", since “these are the joys and hopes, the griefs and anxieties of the followers of Christ. Indeed, nothing genuinely human fails to raise an echo in their hearts" (Gaudium et Spes, 1).
In this both doctrinal and pastoral context, the Faculty of Social Sciences, founded in 1951, offers a program of scientific training, in the light of Christian social doctrine and social sciences.
Our main purpose is to train, in the contest of an international academic environment, students from all over the world, so that they return to their countries of origin as competent operators and play an active role in the service of their local Churches, in the field of the promotion of Christian social doctrine, and that of human and social sciences.
