The Department offers licentiate (SThL) and doctoral (SThD) programmes in Moral Theology, as well as a Diploma in Applied Theology. Students are stimulated to study the sources in a research environment open to the challenges of the contemporary world, where critical thinking and faithfulness to the Church Magisterium are held together. Each student is invited to build deep relationships with the faculty and with their fellow students, hailing from many different countries and continents. The Pontificial Gregorian University, in fact, provides a cosmopolitan space where students can experience the universality of the Church and the interconnectedness of our world.
As is well known, Vatican II insisted on the renewal of Moral Theology and provided a blueprint for such a renewal. Fifty years later, our curriculum continues to be inspired by this call and focused on the major issues that have giuded and stimulated post-conciliar Moral Theology.
