Department of Moral Theology
Dean Fr. Dariusz Kowalczyk, SJ
Director Fr. Diego Alonso-Lasheras, SJ
The Department offers licentiate (SThL) and doctoral (SThD) programmes in Moral Theology, as well as a Diploma in Applied Theology. Students are stimulated to study the sources in a research environment open to the challenges of the contemporary world, where critical thinking and faithfulness to the Church Magisterium are held together. Each student is invited to build deep relationships with the faculty and with their fellow students, hailing from many different countries and continents. The Pontificial Gregorian University, in fact, provides a cosmopolitan space where students can experience the universality of the Church and the interconnectedness of our world, and offers the possibility of a interdisciplinary dialogue with professors and students of other theology specialties and other faculties and institutes such as philosophy, the social sciences, spirituality or psychology.
