The Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI), in collaboration with the Cardinal Bea Center for Judaic Studies, organized the conference entitled "Mysticism and Interfaith Dialogue: The Case of Judaism and Islam".

Prof. Michael Ebstein (Hebrew University of Jerusalem) will address the question whether the mystical traditions are, as commonly assumed, truly universal, truly accepting of the “other”, and, accordingly, whether they are the right candidates for a sincere interfaith dialogue. This lecture will focus on the mystical traditions of Islam and Judaism, in an attempt to shed some light on this complex and sensitive issue.
