TST133  INTRODUCTION TO THEOLOGICAL METHOD I: FUNDAMENTAL THEOLOGY

This class intends to introduce students to the formal study of theology
through an investigation and discussion of the concept and sources
ANNO ACCADEMICO 2019-2020 119
of Divine Revelation, namely Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition, as
well as discussing the credibility of Divine Revelation and the distinct
nature of the discipline of fundamental theology, as opposed to dogmatic
theology.
Metodo d’insegnamento: For the first thirty minutes, the professor
will review a topic related to the assigned readings and then, for the rest of
the class period, an designated student will lead a discussion based on the
assigned readings and the integration papers of the other students.
Modalità di valutazione: Each week, the student will be asked to
write a one-page paper demonstrating an understanding and integration
of the assigned reading. The student will be asked to write a final elaborato
of 7 pages, which will be a critical book review of an assigned text from
authors like Danielou, Congar, de Lubac, Balthasar, Maritain, Lonergan,
and Chenu.
