International Students Office

The International Students Office, present from the Academy Year 2003-2004 at the service of the University Community, finds a remarkable and constant attendance of students from all over the world.

The International Students Office:

guarantees a permanent update on the complex and changing Italian immigration laws;
Maintains constant contacts with governmental national institutions operating in the immigration field in Italian and European territory;
Provides students with various information material to consult or withdraw, as well as application forms, addresses and opening hours of various offices to which they have to send their request.

Main services of the International Students Office

The International Students Office provides students with a service of orientation, information and assistance in filling in the forms for the fulfilment of their requests:

1. Entry Visa

This is a mandatory requirement for study or religious purposes. This kind of Visa can be requested exclusively at the Italian Consulate Abroad.

The Pre-registration certificate must be endorsed by the Italian Consular Office when the visa is issued.

2. Residency Permit

This is an obligatory document. The request must be submitted to the Police Headquarters through the post office within eight days of arrival in Italy.

The Post Office issues the appointment at the Police Headquarters, the receipt of payment and an insured with access codes to check your application forms. The International Students Office is available to complete these formalities and to provide the necessary information.

3. Integration agreement

It is a contract between the Italian State and the interested person making the request. It must be signed on the same day of the appointment at the Police Headquarters. ECTS credits earned over a two-year period must be VERIFIED.

It is possible to contact the Office one month before the expiry of the two-year duration of the agreement to verify that all the requirements are satisfactory, bringing the documents demonstrating the accumulated credits and certificates of enrolment and frequency.

4. Fiscal Code (Tax Code)

This document is issued free of charge by the department of Revenue Agency

The Fiscal Code is obligatory in order to submit some requests during the residency on Italian soil such as registration with the national health service, registration, the opening of a bank or postal account etc.

5. National Health Service (SSN)

Registration is on a voluntary basis, valid from January to December and cannot be cancelled. It can replace a private insurance policy.

All students with a residence permit for study or religious purposes can register voluntarily with specific payment of the contribution for the whole year (from January to December). The addresses of the ASL you belong to and the complete information to register are available in the Office.

6. Identity Card

It is an identification document necessary to formalize the residence. To obtain it, you must register at the Registry Office (Anagrafe) in the Municipality of your residency.
