In the face of the forced closure of libraries, the world of culture is also moving to face the immediate and global need to access documentary material for study and research. The Library of the Gregorian Pontifical University reports the following initiatives:
- JSTOR has opened its collections to all for free until 30 June 2020, which include the archives of 150 periodicals and more than 6,000 ebooks (https://bit.ly/2xN3TCX);
- Internet Archive has created the National Emergency Library, that until 30 June 2020 will provide approximately one million and a half digitized books through a 14-day virtual loan upon registration (https://archive.org/details/nationalemergencylibrary?tab=about);
- Perlego offers access to over 300,000 academic titles for 6 weeks; to get the offer, click on “Start free trial” and after the 14-day free trial period, the “iorestoacasa” code will automatically activate access for another 4 weeks (https://www.perlego.com/?discount=iorestoacasa).
