On Wednesday 31 May 2023, the Rector Fr. Mark Lewis, S.J. - in accordance with Art. 32, §1 of the General Statutes of the Pontifical Gregorian University and Art. 18 of the General Regulations of the same University, after consultation with the Executive Board - appointed Rev. Prof. Giuseppe Bonfrate as Director of the Centre of Faith and Culture "Alberto Hurtado" for a three-year term, starting on 29 June 2023.

"I thank the Rev. Prof. Bonfrate for his willingness to take on this assignment in service to the Centre and our University and I assure him of my and our trust and support," the Rector wrote in the communication to the University Community. "At the same time, I sincerely thank Fr. Sandro Barlone S.J. for having exercised the office of Pro-Director, guaranteeing the performance of all the activities of the Centre".
