On 26 October 2023, Prof. Paolo Benanti (Faculty of Theology) was appointed by the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) as a member of the High-level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence (IA).

The High-level Advisory Body on Artificial Intelligence brings together 38 experts in relevant disciplines from around the world on the risks and challenges, opportunities and enablers for international governance of artificial intelligence. The Body will present its recommendations before the Summit of the Future in September 2024.

"Coming from an institution that calls itself a 'University of Nations', this task means for me to be able to experience how the universality and cura personalis that characterise our university can be effective in terms of helping the peaceful development and coexistence of different peoples in this area," commented Fr. Benanti.
