Bellarmino and Vedovato Awards / Nominations

Nominations for the 2020 edition of the Bellarmino Award and the Vedovato Award are open until the deadline set on 15 January 2021. The candidate dissertations must have been defended during the current calendar year (1 January - 31 December) and have obtained or passed the 9.7/10 mark, based on the evaluation of the written text.

The Bellarmino Award was established in order to stimulate scientific research and promote the two best dissertations defended in the Pontifical University in Gregorian, one in Theology and a second one in the disciplines of the other Faculties or Institutes.

The Vedovato Award was established in order to stimulate scientific research and promote the best defended dissertations at the Pontifical Gregorian University in the field of ethics in international relations, to highlight the ethical-legal, ethical-economic, ethical-social, ethical-political and ethical-religious implications, or in ethical studies to provide answers to the current challenges of the Church in the world.

Both awards consist of a sum established at the beginning of the academic year. The requirements for nomination are contained in the respective sections of the Statutes, Regulations and Norms (annex 4.1 and 4.2 of the Rules for the Third Cycle).
