Revision of the regulations of the Bellarmino and Vedovato Awards

At its meeting on 24 October, the University Council approved an amendment to the regulations of the Bellarmino and Vedovato Awards.

For both Awards, it was decided to bring forward the deadline for submitting candidatures, which must therefore no longer be submitted by 15 February, but by 15 January each year.

Secondly, for the Vedovato Award alone, a change was made to Article 1 in an expansive sense, with the aim of facilitating candidatures and encouraging participation. Indeed, the now reworded Article 1 states:

"The Vedovato Award is instituted in order to stimulate scientific research and to promote the best dissertation defended at the Pontifical Gregorian University in the field of social ethics and/or international relations, with an in-depth study in one or more disciplinary dimensions, in order to propose possible answers to the current challenges of the Church in the world, also by looking at local issues of undoubted general interest".
