The Library in the URBE Parsifal Catalogue

The Library of the Gregorian  University makes available to students, professors and researchers Parsifal, the highly innovative search engine that serves as a single point of access to the documentary patrimony preserved by the Libraries that adhere to the network of the Unione Romana Biblioteche Ecclesiastiche (URBE). The access icon can be found on the Library's homepage.

"The name of the portal refers to one of the protagonists of the Graal myth," recalls Dr. Miriam Viglione, Prefect of the Library, "with the explicit reference to the Arthurian legend, centred on the theme of the quest that the young Parsifal is called upon to accomplish, succeeding in the enterprise because of his pure heart.

The Parsifal project stems from the awareness of the Rectors of the Roman Pontifical Universities to equip the libraries of their Institutions with a portal that brings together the bibliographic data and authority entries of the 17 URBE libraries participating in the project and allows to optimise time and refine ways of the research experience, returning results enriched by sources from the individual catalogues.
