The renewal of the Faculty of Missiology

Being aware of the challenges precipitously occurring in the present 'change of epoch', the Faculty of Missiology has embarked on a path of reflection that has led to a new enucleation of its epistemological statute and consequently to an updating of the Faculty's profile, as well as a reformulation of its academic paths. The new profile of the Faculty of Missiology, definitively approved by the Executive Council on 24 January 2023, has involved the professors of the Faculty, as well as the Centre for Interreligious Studies, with which it works in close collaboration. It includes three paths, autonomous but complementary:

  •  Mission Ad Gentes and Inter Gentes
  •  Mission in contemporary societies
  •  Mission, dialogue and religions

The detailed presentation of the epistemological statute and the three academical paths is available in the Program of Studies of the Faculty of Missiology. With this new focus and relaunch of its academic offer, the Faculty of Missiology renews its commitment to specific and qualified training in evangelisation in various contexts around the world; to those preparing to teach the subjects of missiology in various Universities, particular Churches or Institutes; to the teaching of the Catholic religion in Italian schools.
