Alla ricerca del memoriale perduto

For five years now, the Gregorian University Historical Archives has begun a process of enhancing the copy of Pierre Favre's Memoriale (1506-1546) that is part of its holdings.
It is a coeval manuscript (F.C. 1042) that is added to the existing sixteen. Given to be lost since the 19th century, it has not been surveyed by Michel de Certeau (1925-1986) and therefore excluded from critical editions to date.
The consideration of this "witness" will be an opportunity to observe various phenomena, from the modes of preservation to the genesis of the text, which will be disseminated through many manuscript copies without going to print until many centuries later.
