P. Christian de Chergé, beatified with the other martyrs of Algeria on 8th December in Oran, known as the Prior of Tibhirine, of the monastery of Notre Dame de l'Atlas, lived together with his trappist brothers a path of fraternity until the gift of his life in 1996, in solidarity with the Algerian people, as is recalled in "Gaudete et exultate" n. 141. In 1979, together with Mgr Claude Rault, he co-founded the group Ribat es-Salam, Vincolo della Pace: this forum will outline its salient features, in the framework of the contemporary history of the Church of Algeria.

The Gregorian Center for Interreligious Studies presents the "Monday Forum" cycle, an evening event that offers ideas and debates on issues relating to the relationship between Islam and Christianity, Christianity and the Religions of Asia and finally on the more general aspects of interreligious studies.
