Strategie di New Media Education: una ricerca-azione tra Burundi e Ruanda

Although the two countries have similar characteristics (sociodemographic, territorial, political, economic), why Burundi - where the Internet is present in only 19% of schools in Gitega - struggles to recognize the importance of new media as effective teaching tools, while in Rwanda (where all schools in Kigali have both computers and internet connections) is this awareness much more widespread? What are the practical strategies to adopt to ensure that things change on the one hand and are further implemented on the other?

The sociological investigation, entitled 'New Media Education Strategies: action-research between Burundi and Rwanda' – promoted by the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Pontifical Gregorian University (with the patronage of the Migrantes Foundation and the Italian Association of Sociology) – first of all proposes to answer these questions. However, since it is an action research, it (beyond the theoretical-conceptual results) also and above all aims to achieve a humanitarian goal, on site: the activation of an Internet Literacy (and Media Education) course/workshop) intended for both teachers and students in Burundian schools.
