Method in Theology (1972) can be considered one of the most important theological works of the twentieth century. Lonergan developed his notion of functional specialisation, a key element of his book, while he was Professor of Dogmatic Theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. This workshop explores the continued relevance of this insight to support the praxis of a synodal Church, proposed by Pope Francis.
