"Yoga. Storia di un equivoco"

Forum del Centro Studi Interreligiosi della Gregoriana a.a. 2021-2022

In our days the word yoga is inextricably linked to poses, postures, positions, figures and silhouettes to which the body is called to resemble. This postural and gymnastic conception of yoga is, like it or not, the undisputed synonym of what in the works in Sanskrit language is indicated with the word yoga . This shared belief, however, is not only poorly representative of the contents of which literary, epigraphic, visual and iconological history testify, but is decidedly equivocal. Similarly equivocal is the combination of yoga and 'Indian spirituality'.
