Roland Meynet, S.I., La composition du Psautier. I- II

Abstract - The Psalter is not an inorganic conglomeration of isolated pieces. It forms a real book. Each of the five “books” that make it up is composed and well composed. The whole also forms a skilfully elaborated architecture. The passage from the old covenant to the new covenant announced by the prophets of the exile is gradually outlined.

Keywords: Psalter as a Book, biblical rhetoric

Ana Cristina Villa-Betancourt, «Por la mano poderosa y vivificantedel Logos»: la diferencia sexual según los Padres Capadocios

Abstract - The article proposes some reflections taken from the theological anthropology of the Cappadocian Fathers to illuminate the theme of human sexual difference in the current discussion. To this end, it begins with the affirmation that God is neither male nor female, continues on to present the human being as méthorios, mediator, between the material and immaterial world and to affirm that male and female are the image of God. This is followed by a study of the Nicene’s doctrines of the double creation and the garments of skin and concludes by proposing further studies based on the Trinitarian doctrine.

Roberto Di Ceglie, Nascondimento e provvidenza di Dio

Abstract - God’s providence is often used to propose a solution to the problem of evil when this problem is employed to demonstrate that God does not exist. In recent decades, alongside the problem of evil, another problem has arisen to deny the existence of God. I am referring to the problem of divine hiddenness, especially the version offered by the Canadian philosopher John Schellenberg (1959-). Here I intend to deal with the relationship between hiddenness and providence of God. I first intend to argue that the divine hiddenness problem, as Schellenberg presents it, is due to an inadequate reading of historical events, because the consequences of these events, at least the most significant ones, are not considered. I then intend to confirm my reading in two ways. First, I will show that philosophy of history, that is, a rational reading of historical events, could emerge only when these events were read according to a hypothesis that considered their subsequent process of development. Secondly, I will show that this hypothesis, unlike the one that does not consider such a process, avoids the emergence of a moral problem.

Emilio J. Justo, Desafíos actuales de la antropología teológica

Abstract - Theological reflection is done in dialogue with the culture of each time. If in the twentieth century culture was mainly marked by Marxism, at the beginning of the twenty-first century nihilism makes its mark clear. Various aspects of the nihilistic tendency can be perceived in transhumanism, in a type of spirituality and in gender ideology. These cultural movements pose some challenges related to anthropology. This article seeks to identify these challenges of theological anthropology and offers some ideas to think about fundamental aspects of the human being, such as corporality, freedom, nature and the condition of being a creature.

Stefania De Vito, «Scandalo di pochi, mediocrità di molti». Sulle dinamiche di guarigione ecclesiale dagli abusi a partire da Rm 6,1-14

Abstract - The article begins from the reflections developed by the Italian “Servizio Nazionale dei Minori e delle Persone Vulnerabili” on abuses in the Church. Behind the appeal to synodality, to co-responsibility, and to the urgency of a systemic reading of the abuses, it is necessary that there be a process of individual and collective conversion, which aims at a rediscovery of Christian identity by paschal reading of the wounds. By this process, the Church can begin the process of ecclesial healing. The reflection in the article is supported by Roman 6:1-14 and from that point it moves to a systematic synthesis, based on a Lonerganian model of a mediating and mediated theology.

Keywords: Epistle to the Romans, B. Lonergan, abuses in the Church, conversion, Sinodality, co-responsability

Wellistony Carvalho Viana, A Filosofia Estrutural-Sistemática e o problema da causalidade

Abstract - Explanatory models of causality generally address two basic questions: 1) What is the nature of the entities involved in causality? and 2) What does the causal relation consist of? The former deals with such problems as the nature, degree of refinement, criterion of individuation, and quantity of the entities in a causal relation; the latter is concerned with the nature, identification, and direction of the causal relation itself. The present paper will deal only with the first question, which is answered by Structural- Systematic Philosophy (SSP) through the concepts of dispositional prime fact and causal configuration. With the theoretical-linguistic framework of SSP, we address some of the current problems of causality: how many entities are involved in the causal relation? How to solve the problem of causal absences? How to explain causal differences? The aim of the paper is to offer traces of a new dispositional theory of causality within a theory of Being as such and as a whole.

Serafín Béjar, El haptocentrismo de Jean-Luc Nancy: cuerpo, tacto y cristianismo

Abstract - The objective of this article is a critical dialogue with the philosophy of Jean Luc Nancy from the theological sphere. This French philosopher places the importance of the body and touch at the very center of his ontology, making a devastating criticism of Christianity from there. Indeed, Christianity would be the religion that would have removed the body for the sake of the triumph of interiority and would have blurred the touch when considering it as pure immediacy with the world. Therefore, a careful exposition of his thought is required that makes it possible for theology to give a reason for its hope.

Keywords: Nancy, body, flesh, touch, Christianity

Cesar Andrade Alves, S.I., Bishop Christopher Butler’s Role in Dei Verbum 11 on the Inspiration of the Bible

Abstract - The question of the relevance of Christ as the fullness of God’s revelation in a time of Liquid Modernity calls for an analysis of the inspiration of the Bible that is rooted in crucial theological elements. In this regard, Christopher Butler emerges as a Council Father dedicated to such a theological undertaking during and after the Second Vatican Council. The purpose of this article is twofold. Firstly, to provide a dedicated examination of Christopher Butler’s prominent role in Dei Verbum 11 on the inspiration of the Bible. Secondly, to review Butler’s compelling post-conciliar reflections on the issue of inspiration. Such a theology of inspiration in line with the constitution Dei Verbum brings out relevant components of special theological interest, and is relevant for a renewed reception of Vatican II.
