CRISTO E L'ISLAM. UN DIALOGO CON IL MONDO ISLAMICO A PARTIRE DAL MISTERO DELLA CROCE

Dialogue with Islam has intensified in recent years, also thanks to the initiatives undertaken by Pope Francis. Today, Muslims and Christians can confront each other on everything, unlike in the past, even the recent past, where a theological dialogue seemed impossible. One of the theological issues that have always divided Christianity and Islam is certainly the 'Cross', and with it the figure of Christ and the way the two traditions conceive salvation. A conference that addresses this question can only help to better understand one of the most complex knots that has divided Christianity and Islam. At the same time, however, addressing this issue is also an opportunity to get to know each other's sacred texts and theological traditions. The two religions thus have the opportunity to rethink, in a new and different way, the doctrines they profess. This is, after all, one of the most essential and important contributions that interreligious dialogue can make to the growth of the Church.
