Confessioni by Agostino d'Ippona

Tra labirinti e biblioteche - I grandi libri della tradizione cristiana

"You are great, Lord, and well worthy of praise; great is your virtue, and your wisdom incalculable. And man wants to praise you, a particle of your creation, which carries around his mortal destiny, which carries around the proof of his sin and the proof that you resist the superb".

The Confessions (in Latin Confessionum libri XIII or Confessiones) is an autobiographical work in XIII libri by Agostino d'Ippona, father of the Church, written in 398. It is unanimously recognized as one of the greatest masterpieces of Christian literature. St. Augustine, turning to God, narrates his life and in particular the story of his conversion to Christianity.

The presentation is conducted by Gaetano Piccolo, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy.
